Taken at the Dallas Aquarium yesterday with my family in town from Colorado and Florida. I have been here several times, but it never ceases to amaze me at what beautiful animals they have. I would still prefer them to all be free though.
Shot with a Nikon D300 and f/2.8 @ 200mm for 1/30 sec, ISO 800.
I really love this time of year! It’s the time when the butterflies start showing up and the hummingbirds will soon follow (I have seen one hummingbird at my feeder already). I took the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 for a little drive around my work campus today. While shooting Tom the Mascot (wild turkey) was interesting, I really think this was my best shot of the day. The detail is just incredible!
Last year’s hummingbird run was my best year in captures thus far, but I am really ready for them this year with this monster fast lens! Stay tuned and enjoy!
Are you looking for insanelydull.com? Well…in the effort to try and maintain a photography site and blog, my insanely dull blog fell by the wayside.
So, it is now pointing to my photography site permanently. I am not sure how many actual readers I had, but my apologies for the changes. The positive side is you get to see all my AWESOME photography work now!
Enjoy!
I recently added Fine Art America as my one of my fulfillment providers for my photographic art. This is just another avenue to get the word out and maybe snag a sale or two. Currently my photographs are for sale at the following sites:
Charles Dobbs Photography (Best Pricing)
RedBubble.com – Charles Dobbs
Fine Art America offers some awesome products and I am happy to add them as a fulfillment partner for my work.
Most people get a chuckle out of this photograph when they first see it. “You sure a strange guy” they say, but isn’t that what makes some of the best art? I probably don’t need to tell you how I thought of taking this photograph, so I won’t bore or gross you out in any way. But haven’t we all been faced with this situation at least once in our lives? Most of the time the panic you first encounter is when you have to look for where or if there are additional rolls close by to replace this obviously empty one. The second time you panic is when you can’t find another roll and you now realize this one last sheet is all you have and you had Mexican food last night. Oops…sorry, that might have been a visual gross thought there for a second.
This is where the title comes in to play. “Critical Thinking” is what I titled this photograph and in my mind, that is what you would have to do to make this last sheet of toilet paper work for you. I think it is a great conversation piece and will make you think what you would do in this situation.
Welcome to the new photoblog for Charles Dobbs Photography! Here you will find information about my work in photography. I’ll certainly be adding some of photography work, but I plan to give some information on the photograph you are looking at. How I found it, how I shot it, and even how I post processed it. Best of all…I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t give you the opportunity to purchase the work you are seeing!
I hope you find this site useful. Enjoy!
